MISSION STATEMENT:

The Echols County Clerk of Superior Courts Office maintains records and wishes to accomplish the prompt and orderly disposition of the business of the Courts as required by law and to provide quality and professional service to the citizens of Echols County.

Limitations on the Clerk’s Office:

The Clerk and deputy clerk desire to help all parties that ask for assistance and will attempt to do so. The Clerk and deputy clerk are strictly forbidden to practice law by statute and are restricted in what they can give advice about or assistance in preparing. Any assistance given by this office should not be considered legal advice. Sound legal advice must only come from a licensed attorney.

General Duties:

Real Estate recording and records maintenance, Transfer tax and Intangible tax collection and distribution, UCC recording, Traverse Jury and Grand Jury Management, Civil and domestic court filing and processing, Criminal court filing and processing, Garnishment filing and processing, Adoption filing and processing, Appeals filing and processing, Juvenile case filing and processing, Issuance of Notary Public Certificates and management, Trade Name registration, Child support collection and disbursement, Fine and fee collection and disbursement, Military Discharges filed and maintained, Family Violence filing and processing, Administrator for the Board of Equalization, Administer Oaths as set forth by law.
