The Echols County Landfill / Convenience Site provides residential solid waste disposal services for Echols County residents.
Hours of Operation
Friday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Saturday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Hours may be modified for County-observed holidays or other circumstances. Closures and schedule changes will be posted on the Echols County website.
Accepted Residential Waste
The landfill accepts normal waste generated through residential activities, including:
- Household garbage
- Vegetative debris, limbs and yard waste
- Scrap metal
- Construction materials generated through personal residential activities
Prohibited Waste
The following materials are not accepted:
- Tires
- Asphalt shingles
- Commercial or industrial waste
- Contractor or job-site debris
- Business-generated waste
- Waste generated outside Echols County
- Remodeling or demolition debris generated through paid contractor work
- Other materials prohibited by County policy or state law
Contractors and businesses may not use the residential landfill for disposal of commercial or job-site waste.
Special Collection Events
The County may periodically hold special collection or disposal events. Information concerning these events will be posted on the Echols County website.
